Phones and tablets
On a touch screen the game adds its own controls:
| The stick (left thumb) | walk in any direction; hold it against its rim to run |
| JUMP | jump; climb while flying or swimming |
| HIT | attack; hold to draw a bow or charge a spell |
| USE | act on what is pointed at: talk, pick up, open |
| AIM | hold to aim a bow; tap to lock on to a target |
| FLY, SNEAK | toggle flight; toggle the crouch, or descend while flying or swimming |
| One finger on the world | drag to turn the camera; tap to point at something |
| Two fingers on the world | pinch for the camera distance; twist to roll in flight |
USE acts on whatever was tapped last, or on what the camera looks at when nothing was. A drag that starts on HIT or AIM turns the camera, so a thumb holding either can still aim. In the sidebar a finger on a section’s title bar scrolls the list; pull a title bar to the left to detach its window. On the character screen two fingers on the preview zoom it.
Sound runs on a lighter graph on a phone: plain stereo panning in place of head-related
panning, shorter reverbs, fewer music voices, and music scheduled further ahead, so that the
soundtrack holds while the frame rate is low. __touch() in the console prints what the
controls currently say, and __music() the audio profile and the state of the audio
context.
